Ranger Tremor Ready to Shock Ute Market

There’s a new, more extreme Ford Ranger on its way to the local market with Ford Australia announcing that its latest off-road offering, the Ranger Tremor, is now available to order.

The Ranger Tremor is powered by a 150kW/500Nm Euro 6 compliant 2-litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Like its Wildtrak X sibling, the driveline requires the use of AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid.

The Tremor features a full-time four-wheel-drive (4WD) system and has a Trail Turn Assist feature that allows the vehicle to manoeuvre around tight off-road turns.
Ford says off-roading capability is enhanced with a Rock Crawl drive mode and Trail Control – like off-road cruise control.

The Tremor has all the features of the Sport Double-Cab 2-litre Bi-Turbo 4×4 model, and includes:

  • Ford’s full-time 4WD system
  • Max Braked Towing Capacity: 3500kg
  • 17-inch Asphalt Black Alloy Wheels, General Grabber AT3 All-Terrain Tyres, wheel arch mouldings, 30mm increased track width
  • Off-road suspension & steering:
    • Bilstein position-sensitive dampers
      with external reservoirs
    • New springs that, in conjunction with the tyres, deliver 26mm in total additional ground clearance
    • Heavy Duty EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted Steering) gear with shielding
  • Tremor badging and styling, 3D tailgate badging, Tremor-embossed seats, black Ford oval badges, and availability of the Conquer Grey hero colour
  • Overhead Auxiliary Switch Bank
  • Honeycomb grille with auxiliary grille LED lamps
  • Front steel bash plate
  • Cast aluminium side steps
  • Long-legged sports bar
  • Tremor branded all-weather floor mats
  • Trail Turn Assist: When enabled off-road and at low speeds, this feature reduces the vehicle’s turning radius by applying brakes to the inside rear wheel
  • Trail Control: Controls acceleration and braking to maintain a set speed
  • Rock Crawl Drive Mode: Provides optimal slow-speed traction and momentum on loose and rocky surfaces.

Options for the Ranger Tremor include a Touring Pack, a Flexible Rack System, a Manual Roller Shutter. Remove Auto Stop/Start is a no cost delete option.
Up to 1150 units of the limited-edition model are headed for Australia, priced from $69,690 MLP (excluding on-road costs). Deliveries are expected to begin
in September.
