Queensland Police Stolen Vehicle Portal Now Live

Queenslanders now have improved access to information about stolen vehicles after the Queensland Police Service launched their new online stolen vehicle public portal.

Looking to crack down on vehicle theft state-wide, the new portal will contain information on active cases of stolen vehicles and allow the public to upload information and evidence of suspicious-looking vehicles and determine whether such a vehicle is a match with one reported as stolen.

Included for each listing is de-identified information including the make, model, colour, and registration number of the vehicle, as well as the suburb the vehicle was reported as stolen from.

The portal, which is updated daily to provide the most up-to-date information, makes it easier for members of the public to provide information.

Regional Operations and Youth Crime Deputy Commissioner Shane Chelepy said, “Information from the public plays a crucial part in investigations, and this gives the community greater tools to tell police the active movements of stolen vehicles and the actions of those behind the wheel.

“If you see a suspicious vehicle, members of the community can utilise this webpage, provide information to police and allow officers to take action.”

The Stolen Vehicle Public Portal can be accessed online at police.qld.gov.au/stolen-vehicles.
