Notice of Lodgement of Rule Change Application with the Fair Work Commission 03/07/2024
MTA Queensland has lodged an application with the Fair Work Commission on Wednesday 03 July 2024 to alter our rules as approved by members at the General Meeting held Thursday 23 May 2024. All proposed amendments are subject to approval by the Fair Work Commission.
It is recommended that:
- The members approve Rule changes as tabled the summary of changes are:
- The alignment to the Direct Voting System also requires changes to definitions and clarity of the process throughout the Rules.
- Voting at meetings and Voting at Elections cannot be covered by the same process and have separate requirements the changes and addition of a new rule provide clarity.
- Alignment of proxies to the members of the meetings.
- Clarify for definitions for the positions of:
- Division Representatives and Division Representatives Elect
- Alternate Division Representatives and Alternate Division Representatives Elect
- Clarify timing of Elected Office Holders taking up positions
- Remove Alternate District Representative, Division Alternate Representatives are clearly linked to Vice Chair positions. There is no additional role under District Representatives to perform this function
- Detail nomination procedure applicable to each form of Election

Notice of Lodgement of Rule Change Application with the Fair Work Commission 19/03/2024
MTA Queensland has lodged an application with the Fair Work Commission on Monday 18 March 2024 to alter our rules as approved by members at the General Meeting held Thursday 15 February 2024. All proposed amendments are subject to approval by the Fair Work Commission.
It is recommended that:
1. The maximum terms for the positions of Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary are removed from our Rules
2. There is a change of name for the Automotive Remarketing Division (ARD) to the Used Car Division (UCD)

Notice of Lodgement of Rule Change Application with the Fair Work Commission 25/10/2023
MTA Queensland has lodged an application with the Fair Work Commission on Saturday 25 October 2023 to alter our rules as approved by members at the General Meeting held Friday 10 November 2023. All proposed amendments are subject to approval by the Fair Work Commission.
It is recommended that:
1. We remove the requirements for AGM’s for all Divisions through a Rule change application.
2. The other minor amendment is to create a timeline for Office Bearers to take up their positions if the AGM is removed. Refer to section 4.5 (a) – (d) and 18 (t).
