Mitsubishi has released the pricing and specifications for its New-Gen Triton, combining rugged off-road capability with the latest control technologies to tame any terrain.
Available in Australian showrooms from February 2024, the New-Gen Triton will launch with the popular pick-up body style, available in double cab and club cab forms. Cab-chassis variants will be added post-launch.
The line-up features a recognisable model structure, offering GLX, GLX+, GLS, and GSR grades, each boasting a new, Mitsubishi-designed and developed 2.4-litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine. This power unit employs ‘twin stage’ turbocharging – two turbochargers, one small for fast response at low revs, and a larger turbo to fortify the top end – to develop 150kW of power at 3500rpm, with a 470Nm peak torque figure that’s available from just 1500rpm to 2750rpm.
The new engine and gearbox combination is designed to produce exceptional response and low-rev pulling power and a linear torque delivery throughout the rev range, while also improving efficiency over the previous generation. A new engine Auto Stop & Go System further supports efficiency.
Both 4 x 2 and 4 x 4 drivetrains will be available with an updated six- speed automatic transmission. A six-speed manual will also be offered on some variants, post-launch.
New-Gen Triton is also larger in both length and width, further enhancing cabin space and load capacity. A 3,500kg braked tow rating, up some 400kg from the previous generation, further extends New-Gen Triton’s multi-purpose repertoire.
All models will offer a comprehensive suite of safety systems, including forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, and junction assist.
The range commences with 4×2 GLX Dual Cab Pick-Up, priced from $43,690 RRP with six-speed automatic transmission, topped by 4×4 GSR Dual Cab Pick-Up Auto, priced from $63,840 RRP.
