If there is one thing I have learnt during my time here at MTA Queensland, it is that as our industry shifts gear and pace, so too must we. With this in mind, we have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes over the summer to launch new services that maximise the value of membership and provide the support our members need to flourish now and into the future. As a result, I am pleased to say we are now offering several programs never before seen by our industry in Australia!
In addition to our ongoing Industry Skills Advisor role, working with government to make informed decisions related to small business, skill, and job outcomes, we have introduced the Industry Workforce Advisor program. This role will see a dedicated advisor connecting with businesses across Queensland to identify and address workforce challenges and build tailored plans for diversifying and growing your business!
We are also all in on nurturing the connection between schools and the automotive industry, dedicating substantial resources toward educating schools on career prospects and school-based apprenticeship while also, excitingly, offering accredited training programs such as VET in Schools and Auto Ready directly into schools.
Finally, we are in the midst of rolling out a series of targeted online ‘top-up’ training programs that look at dealing with and handling emerging technology in the industry. We believe that the future of training involves these short, self-paced micro-credential courses that complement existing training and qualifications, which can be accessed anywhere, anytime. We are incredibly excited to explore this training method further over the coming months as we bring the latest innovative training to our industry.
