Kia Australia has launched the K4 into its line-up, with the new model now available and replacing the Cerato in its passenger car range. Spanning a longer, wider, and lower frame than its predecessor, the K4 rides on a new platform, injecting a sportier aesthetic alongside new technology and enhanced safety measures.

The K4 will initially launch as a sedan, with a hatchback variant set to debut in late 2025. The sedan lineup includes four trim levels – S, Sport, Sport+, and GT-Line. The S, Sport, and Sport+ models are powered by a 112kW/192Nm, 2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the GT-Line is equipped with a more powerful 142kW/264Nm, 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine.

Safety remains a key focus for the K4, with standard features including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keep Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, and a full suite of airbags, including a front Centre Side Airbag. A Safety Pack option is available for the base S trim, offering additional advanced driver assistance features.

The Sport, Sport+, and GT-Line trims also feature Highway Driving Assist (HDA 2), which enhances adaptive cruise control with lane-centring and autonomous lane change capabilities. Inside, the K4 boasts a refined cabin featuring a digital instrument cluster, with higher trims incorporating a panoramic display housing a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 5-inch HVAC interface, and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard across all variants, while the GT-Line adds a wireless charging pad and ambient mood lighting.

Kia Connect, the brand’s connected car service, provides real-time updates on traffic, weather, and security features. Over-the-air (OTA) software updates ensure that the K4 remains at the cutting edge of technology. The K4 adopts Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, featuring a sleek fastback silhouette, vertical front headlamps, and ‘Star-Map’ LED lighting. There are flush-mounted rear door handles, black wheel arch cladding, and wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches.

Inside, the K4 offers a roomier cabin with improved legroom and headspace. The sedan variant provides a 508-litre boot, complemented by refined materials and ergonomic design. The GT-Line trim includes a sunroof and premium artificial leather upholstery.

Kia says it is continuing its push towards sustainability with the K4, integrating recycled materials and bio-based plastics into its construction. The model is available in eight exterior colours, including four new shades—Interstellar Gray, Fiery Red, Wave Blue, and Honeydew.

RRP pricing for the Kia K4 sees the S model come in at $30,590, the S with Safety Pack at $32,690, the Sport at $35,190, the Sport+ at $37,590, and the GT-Line at $42,990.
