2024 Mustang Shelby Super Snake Breaks Cover

The latest Mustang Shelby Super Snake has been unveiled, and to call it a ‘muscle car’ barely does justice to this absolute beast of a machine.

The limited-edition model is based on the new S650 Ford Mustang platform and in its most potent form will be available with around 620kW courtesy of a supercharged 5-litre V8.

Also under the tweaked and aggressive exterior – which, amongst other mods, boasts a carbon fibre wing and lower diffuser at the rear, an aluminium vented bonnet, carbon fibre extractors and a wide-body front –  is a Shelby extreme cooling system, a Borla exhaust system, performance half shafts, one-piece drive shaft (manual only), a Shelby suspension system, and Shelby brake rotor upgrade. The whole lot sits on 20-inch forged magnesium wheels with Shelby performance spec 305/30R20 tyres front and rear.

There’s a bunch of modifications with the Shelby spec interior upgrade too, the result of which makes this modified Mustang a rare, performance monster.

Australian enthusiasts will be able to get their hands on one. Though the number that will be available here is not confirmed, just 250 of the 2024 model cars will be available in the U.S., and the company says international partners will receive ‘limited numbers commensurate with their market.’

Those available locally will come via Mustang Motorsport in Victoria – the Australian Official Shelby Mod Shop.

Australian Shelby Super Snakes will be built on a customer-supplied, Australian-delivered base Mustang GT (Fastback or convertible) and will receive the 830+ Horsepower package supplied with ADR compliance and 3 year/60,000km limited driveline warranty.

“We are excited for the next generation Shelby Super Snake and can’t wait to see them on our Aussie roads” said James Johnson, Director of Mustang Motorsport. “If Mustang enthusiasts are looking for the most capable high-performance Mustang you can’t beat a Shelby!”

Production is expected to begin mid-year in the U.S. with Australian production to follow later this year 2024. Pricing in Australia has not yet been finalised.
